The mom curse!

Any woman who has a mom knows about the "mom curse". I am sure you all can quote it with me!

" I hope your child turns out just like you!" Well I have been fairly lucky with my first to boys. I must admit I had been lulled into a false sense of security! Surely I had escaped the curse.

Oh No! I didnt escape it at all. I had a daughter, and now I know why the curse is uttered by every mom in the universe! Although my Darling little girl is only 19 months old I have already cursed her with the "mom curse"!!

Princess Dalasha Jr.

My family likes to laugh and tell me about when I was little. They say I used to put a shirt on my head and pretend it was my hair and I was Called Princess Dalasha. up until now I wasnt really sure if I believed them. you'd have to know my family to understand! They like to poke fun and sometimes I think they make it all up after all I am fairly close to perfect! Well, all my doubts were squashed today when my daughter came toddling out of her bedroom with a pair of P.J pants. she proceeded all by herself to sling them on her head and run around with them there! Life in General

I havent posted in what seems like too long! I just wanted to update on life here in the Pacific northWest.
Daddy is again out of town for training. This is fairly normal for our family. He will be gone for about five weeks total. I find that these small seperations can be not only a pain, which they are. But also a small blessing too. Couples and family's who are never apart can never really fully appreciate eachother I think. We tend to take for granted what we always have. I have the oportunity at times to have to be the one to "do it all". I have to be the cook and the maid and the boo-boo kisser like always, but now I also have to be the maintenance man and the jungle gym and the boogie man getter. I can honestly say that my husband is an amazing man who will get up early for a two mile run, then work all day and can still come home and be super man for the kids and me! I dont think you can fully appreciate someone if you have never had to walk in there shoes. At the same time my husband knows all that I "normally" do at home to care for our family. He also knows that now I am adding on top of that all the things HE normally does. I know that He appreciates the fact that I can "keep it together" while he is away.
Things with the pregnancy are going well. I had my first appointment with my midwife this past week. I love my midwife!! she is fantastic! We also got to hear the heart beat which is one of my favorite parts! I have been fairly sick this first trimester but that is finally starting to ware off, Thank Goodness!
Homeschool has been really good this month. We decided since mom was so sick we would just do the basics this month. Math, reading and scriptures. you know taking a month to just slow down has been great! Justin has learned his letters and his shapesand colors too. He is begining to try to sound out simple words, note I said try! Isaiah's reading is improving incredibly. He has always been great at math and he continues to pick up new concepts quickly!
Thats really all thats going on in our world here! I'll keep trying to keep you posted!

been a while

I feel like its been to long since I posted anything up here. Things have been...stressful. I have been really sick with this pregnancy so far. Not throwing up thankfully but feeling like it 24/7. I have also been really tired. Hubby was gone for two weeks when I found out I was pregnant. He was home for a week and a half and now he is gone for a month. Sometimes Army life sucks!
Really its a very good life for us and our family, there are some serious benefits. But there are also some serious downsides too. I am sure it wouldnt be so bad if I werent feeling so crappy!
I am glad to get on here and have a pity party every so often. It makes me feel better! LoL

Planning Ugh!

Well I have determined that I really must be a better planner, at least for the next nine months!! Our homeschool days tend to be fairly relaxed. Although relaxed they do have a general flow and we tend to get everything on the "to do" list that is in my mind done. But now that I am pregnant I KNOW that things cannot and will not go on this way. I am a fairly lucky woman when it comes to pregnancy. I do not get very sick, I do not tend to have any complications, things tend to go very smoothly. The one thing I do struggle with especially early in the pregnancy is Exhaustion! I get so tired so easily and I am lacking energy all the time. Knowing this about myself I know I have to plan. I have to make a list for every day of our homeschool week of what needs to be done.I know I will fair far better if I can look at my list and check things off one by one.
So I sat down this evening and made out a list for each day of next week for my oldest. Tonight sometime or tomorow I will get a list done for the preschooler =-} Hopefully this will keep me on track at least for the next nine months or so!

BABY ON THE WAY

Thats right! Baby number four is on the way!! I am so excited, nervous, and nauseated! hahaha

Charlie and the chocolate factory

I love homeschool! Have I ever mentioned that?? We are doing a literature study this month based on the book Charlie and the chocolate factory by Roald Dahl. We love Dahl. We have read two of his books this past year and they were two favorites of mom and the boys. I downloaded a free unit study guide offline that had tons of great idea's for the book and we all are loving it! We have made our own golden tickets and talked about what we would do if we were Charlie, we watched the orginal movie and will be comparing it to the newer version and the book.

We also made for the first time one of our favorite chocolate treats, Buckeyes!!! Now if you dont know what those are, well shame on you! But any good Ohioan knows what I am talking about. The chocolatey peanutbutter goodness that is a buckeye!

Now I would LOVE to tell you that the making of the buckeyes was a sweet sight. A picture of mom and the kids happily working together to make a yummy treat for all. But yeah it SO didnt happen that way! LoL I asked if the kids wanted to help and do you know what my oldest said?? "well no offense Mom but I think I'd rather finish our movie!" So needless to say Mom made buckeyes! Ahh well!

The only problem I am forseeing with this unit is that it will go by terribly quickly! We are supposed to read one or two chapters a day. Did I mention my kids Love Dahl?? Yeah we have been averaging four or five chapters a day! hahaha

Well at least I know they are enjoying it!
